Peter graduated from Santa Clara University in 2007 with a degree in Psychology. However, after taking a botany course my junior year, he realized his appreciation for the natural sciences. Upon graduation, Peter took science courses after work at a local community college and then in 2010 decided to go back to school full time to pursue a career in the sciences.

Peter's research involves the isolation and elucidation of bioactive chemistry from freshwater cyanobacteria. He also is assessing the taxonomic diversity of both collections for the lab in addition to strains that have been evaluated globally from both freshwater and marine sources.

Peter has love for basketball, ping pong, and being cozy.
